Taiji Sword is one of short weaponry routines of tai chi boxing integrated with tai chi boxing and swordplay techniques. Taiji Sword 42-forms is a competition routine which is set up by the Wushu Research Institute of the former National Sports Committee. It has 42 movements including the beginning and the ending. Some movements such as point, ward-off, cut, block and chop are typically useful. This routine contains 5 stances, 3 kinds of balances and 3 ways of kicking and 3 ways of how to apply your power. The movements are well selected and arranged and set as the standard. They are a little difficult to practice and so are ideal for keeping fit. Level: Advanced. About Professor Li Deyin: Li De Yin, is the well known figure in China for his outstanding contribution in promoting Tai Chi. He is the director of the Physical Education Department of Beijing People's University and Vice Chairman of Beijing Wushu Association. He served as head coach for the thousands-people Tai Chi Parade of the opening ceremony of 11th Asian Game. He also served as Chief Umpire for the Tai Chi Chuan competition. He is nominated as the "Top 100 best martial artists in China Today" and one of the "National Ten Most Popular Wushu Masters".
