Story Synopsis

There are many legends and stories about Bao Zheng and his witty approach to solve mysterious and tough cases. This Beijing opera tells how Bao Zheng finds the grievance of Liu Jinchan's case: a beautiful girl was kidnapped and dead in a festival of lanterns and her cousin lover was sentenced death penalty by Minister of Justice. Bao Zheng had a dream of the hell at the interrogating time and got an idea after wake up: a wrong case in favoritism of executing the law. He investigated the servants who served the case in the county court and found out the fact, captured the criminal to be given capital penalty, impeached the Minister of Justice and redressed the grievance of Liu Jinchan.

剧情介绍

上元灯节，北宋都城汴梁大放花灯，刑部尚书之子李宝带恶奴趁灯会猎色，将柳金蝉诓至郊外欲奸未遂，用金蝉表兄颜查散所赠的定情丝绦将其勒死。祥符县衙役张千、李万惧李宝权势，栽赃颜查散害死金蝉。祥符县令江万里草率定案。刑部尚书执法徇私，顺水推舟将颜查散定成死罪。包拯发现案中疑案，说服江万里连夜重审。包拯伏案入梦后，闯森罗殿，查生死薄，在油流鬼的帮助下，于奈何桥下见到金蝉冤魂，将五殿判官徇私擅改生死簿的情况查明。包拯梦醒悟出执法徇私构成冤案的道理。查明案情真相，拿问张千、李万，将真凶李宝送上铜铡，开释颜查散，上表参劾刑部尚书，为柳金蝉昭雪冤情。
