| Three-Emperor Cannon Fist: Second and Third Routines VCD Demonstrated by Master Zhang Kai Language: Mandarin Chinese Published by Physical Education Press ISRC CN-M23-99-302-00 San Huang Pao Chui (cannon boxing) is one type of Shaolin boxing developed by Pu Zhao monk. Sanhuang Paochui or the three-emperor cannon boxing is also known as the cannon boxing. This style of boxing owes its name to its rapid and powerful fist blows which are likened to firing cannon balls. San huang paochui is based on the theories of the positive and negative, hard and supple, substantial and insubstantial, attack and defense, as well as advance and retreat. Cross-hand fist blows are the foundation of the skills and rounded squatting stance is the basic stance. The three-emperor cannon boxing requires organic combination of eye, hand and body movements, footwork, spirit, mind, breathing and generation of force. It pays attention to the close blending of mentality, breathing and movements. While practicing, Paochui, practitioners should maintain a still mind and concentration. When building up power, it is like pulling a bow and when releasing power, it is like discharging an arrow. A very unusual set but definitely in the Long Fist family. At this point it is difficult to distinguish the practitioners age from the way the set is performed. Some Long Fist movement which, as with much Canon Fist, resemble Tan Tui mixed with very tight folded elbow movements and arm rolls almost mantis like in their shortness. A good practitioner fighting his age but a complex and somewhat intriguing series of movements.
