Peking Opera Tiao Hua Che, Overturning the Armored Vehicles, Overturning the
Iron Chariot, a Big Spear Battling Down-sliding Chariots,
This famous traditional Peking Opera play Tiao Hua Che depicts a story from the
historical novel "Yue Fei": In the South Song Dynasty (1127-1279) the army of
Song in command of Yue Fei (1103-1142) was defeated by the enemy in command of
Jin Kingdom (1103-1142) Wuzhou (?-1149) at the Ox Head Mountain. Yue was
besieged. The Song army banner-guarding general Gao Biao at the hilltop
overlooked his commander in chief in danger. He rode down the hill to assault
the enemy and raised the siege of Jin. The enemy then beats a retreat and Gao
chases them in the flush of victory. The retreating enemy pushes their armored
vehicles from the top of the hill in an attempt to stop the advance of Yue Fei's
army. With all his might, Gao overturns many of the vehicles but, in the end, is
crushed to death by the last vehicle.
Peking Opera Chun Gui Meng, Dream of a Bride, Dream of the Young Lady's Boudoir
Peking Opera play Chun Gui Meng was performed by Mr Cheng Yanqiu (1904-1958),
the founder of Peking Opera Cheng style, for the first time.
In the 3rd Century of the late Han Dynasty warlords battled each other for
domain by force. A young woman's newly wedded husband was taken away to join a
warlord's force and dead in battle a short time later. Day by day, she thinks
about her husband and starts dreaming about the death of her husband in a bloody
war.

剧情介绍
《挑滑车》——岳飞与兀术将会战于牛头山。点将之际，大将高宠因不见重用，质问岳飞，岳飞令守军大纛旗。两军交战，宋军不利，高宠突出助战，连挑金将。兀术大败撤兵，高宠乘胜追击，兀术以铁滑车自山头滑下以阻之，高奋力连挑数辆，终因力尽战死。
《春闺梦》——汉时，公孙瓒与刘虞争地，各强争百姓从军。王恢与妻张氏新婚不久，便与同村赵克奴、李信等一同被征，至军中既战死，张氏悬念日久，积思成梦；梦王返家重叙，又连梦战火兵燹种种情状。
该剧由程砚秋先生首次编演。此次演出是根据赵荣琛先生出本排演。
