Ingredients:
Notopterygium {Qiang Huo} (root & rhizome)
Siler {Fang Feng}(root)
Cang-zhu atractylodes {Cang Zhu} (rhizome)
Ligusticum wallichii {Chuan Xiong} (rhizome)
Fragrant angelica {Bai Zhi}(root)
Chinese skullcap {Huang Qin} (root)
Chinese licorice {Gan Cao} (root)
Rehmannia {Shu Di} (cured root tuber)

Actions: To induce diaphoresis, dispel dampness, and clear internal heat.

Main indications: Use for exterior syndrome with internal heat caused by invasion of exogeneous pathognic wind, cold and dampness, fever, chills, absence of sweating, headache, rigidity of neck, aching of limbs, bitter taste in mouth with slight thirst, showing a tongue with white or yellowish coating, and a superficial pulse. In China it is often prescribed for cold, arthritis, migraine, and lumbago.

Directions: Take 8 pills each time, 3 times a day.
Caution: Do not use during pregnancy.

Note: Nine-Immortal Extract is a modern preparation according to the ancient prescription "Jiu Wei Qiang Huo Tang" (Nine Herb Decoction with Notopterygium) in TCM originally appeared in Hard Won Knowledge (Ci Shi Nan Zhi), that is formulated to release Early-Stage Exterior Disorders due to Invasion of Wind-Cold Damp with interior Heat accumulation. This formula is commonly used for common cold, flu, migraine, and lumbar strain all which are caused by exterior wind cold dampness and internal heat.

主要成分：羌活、防风、苍术、细辛、川芎、白芷、黄芩、甘草、地黄。

功能与主治：发汗祛湿，兼清里热。用于外感风寒湿邪，内有蕴热证。恶寒发热，无汗，头痛项强，肢体酸楚疼痛，口苦微渴，舌苔白或微黄，脉浮。（本方常用于感冒、风湿性关节炎、偏头痛、腰肌劳损等属外感风寒湿邪，兼有里热者。）

服法与用量：口服，一次8粒，一日3次。
本方为辛温燥烈之剂，故风热表证及阴虚内热者不宜使用。

九味羌活丸是根据传统名方“九味羌活汤”制造的现代中药浓缩丸。“九味羌活汤”出自元代王好古《此事难知》，用以主治外感风、寒、湿邪，内有蕴热。
