Principal Ingredients: Rhubarb root (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), Scutellaria root (Radix Scutellariae), Lonicera flower (Lonicera japonica), Coptis rhizome (Coptis chinensis), Gardenia fruit (Gardenia jasminoides), Angelica root (Angelica sinensis), Mentha herb (Mentha hapocalyx), Ligusticum rhizome (Ligusticum sinensis).

Actions: Eliminates toxins, purges Heat and Fire.

Indications: Use for heat toxin or vigorous Fire injuring the Liver, Stomach and Heart; manifestation are swelling pain of the throat, toothache, earache, ulceration in the mouth and on the tongue, conjunctiva congestion, swelling and pain of the eyes, constipation and so on, red tongue with yellow coating, rapid pulse.*

Directions: As dietary supplement, to be taken orally, two tablets each time, twice to three times a day.
Cautions: Spicy and greasy food should be avoided to take. Contraindicated for women in pregnancy.

Notes: This formula is a modern preparation of the ancient prescription "Niu Huang Jie Du Pian" (Cow-Bezoar Antitoxic Tablet; Calculus Bovis Resolving Poison Tablet) originally appeared in Bian Zheng Zhun Sheng Fu Yu Ji (Differentiation Standards from the Volume on Gynecology and Pediatrics), Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It is most used to clear away heat and toxins from the internal organs. It is applicable to Abscess; Conjunctivitis; Fever; Furuncle; Headache; Mouth ulcer; Pharyngitis; Sore throat; Throat inflammation; Toothache; Constipation; Tinnitus, etc.
