Liu Cun was born in 1920, native of Lanzi, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from Fujian Normal School in 1942, learning from flower-and-bird painting master Wu Fuzhi. He is excelled at Chinese painting, proficient at flowers and birds painting. He is best known for loquat and red persimmon paintings. He has published albums including flowers and birds paintings, drawings of loquat from past dynasties, sketches of the feather, etc.

柳村是中国当代花鸟画家，1920年出生，横溪镇人。擅长中国画。1942年毕业于福建省立师专，师从花鸟大师吴茀之。曾任教于国立艺专，受潘天寿先生教益。历任浙江省美协副主席、杭州市文联副主席、浙江省花鸟画研究会会长等职。

柳村先生的画风繁密茂盛，笔墨浑厚拙朴，富有浓郁的生活气息和浓厚的地方特色，作品有《塘栖枇杷喜丰收》、《红柿满枝谷满仓》、《花正茂》等。其中《丹柿》、《枇杷》为中国美术馆、人民大会堂收藏。出版有《柳村花鸟画集》、《历代名家画枇杷》、《翎毛写生集》等。
