Shaolin Quan is also an alternate name for traditional Chang Quan. It refers to a style which spread throughout China and is now regarded as one of the major components of Chang Quan. Its main skills are striking, kicking, throwing and manipulating. Its style can be summed up as fast, hard, agile and simple.

Taizu Chang Quan (Taizu Long Boxing, or Great Ancestor Extended Boxing) is a set of boxing that created by Zhao Kuangyin, the first emperor of the Song Dynasty after he had learned Kung fu in the Shaolin Temple. While practicing, this set requires the boxing comes out and draws back in one straight line, and you can practice it at a very small place. In close fighting it can greatly exert its power. its forms are strange and unusual and its power is very fierce, so it is hard for the opponent to learn its posture, and it makes him a loss and does not know what to do.
