Actions: Classical formula to dispel wind-cold and damp, tonify liver and kidney, and tonify qi and blood.

Main indications: Use for wind-damp in the joint, lower back, and knees, causing weakness, pain and stiffness. Conditions include chronic sciatica, arthritis, and rheumatism. Also useful in injuries to lower limbs.*

Directions: Take 9 pills each time, 2 times a day.
Caution: Do not use during pregnancy. Do not use in cases of heat-dampness.

Notes: Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang (Angelica Pubescens and Sangjisheng Decoction) is one of classical formulas that expel dampness in TCM originally appeared in Thousand Ducat Formulas (Qian Jin Yao Fang). 功能与主治：祛风湿，散寒邪，养肝肾，补气血，止痹痛。用于肝肾两亏、气血不足之风湿久痹、腰膝冷痛、关节不利等症。现代多用于风湿关节炎、类风湿关节炎、坐骨神经痛、腰椎骨质增生、腰肌劳损等。

服法与用量：成人每日服二次，每次服9粒，温开水送服。孕妇忌服。

注意事项：忌生冷、油腻食物。发热病人暂停使用。

独活寄生丸的临床新用

独活寄生丸来源于唐《备急千金要方》一书。由独活、秦艽、防风、细辛、肉桂、桑寄生、杜仲等药组成。功能补气血、益肝肾、祛风湿、止痹痛。传统应用于气血两亏之风寒湿痹，或腰膝冷痛，畏寒喜暖，肢节屈伸不利或麻木不仁等病症。近年来，通过临床实践证明，独活寄生丸还能治疗下列疾病。

1．治疗过敏性鼻炎：用独活寄生丸治疗过敏性鼻炎63例，效果显著。方法：口服独活寄生丸，每次1丸（9克），日服3次，温开水送下，7日为1个疗程。63例经用药1~2个疗程后，其中临床治愈者54例，好转者7例。

2．治慢性肾炎：用独活寄生丸治疗慢性肾小球肾炎59例，其中治愈者46例，显效者7例。有效者4例，无效者2例，总有效率为96.6％。用法：内服独活寄生丸，每次1丸，日3次，20天为1个疗程。有效病例在服用本品2～3周后，尿蛋白就开始降低，治疗1～2个疗程后，尿蛋白可降至微量或阴性。

3．治疗雷诺病：用补气血、益肝肾的独活寄生丸治疗雷诺病患者，疗效满意。方法：内服独活寄生丸，每次9克（1丸），日服3次，60天为1个疗程。临床观祭18例，经用药2～4个疗程后，痊愈者15例，好转者2例。

4．治疗肩周炎：用独活寄生丸治疗肩关节周围炎患者73例，每次1丸，日服3次，10天为1个疗程。结果：73例中痊愈者69例，好转者3例，无效者1例，总有效率为98.6％。
