Hong ShiQing was born in 1929, native of Quanzhou Jinjiang, Fujian Province. He is a professor and sculptor in Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. Professor Hong is good at Chinese painting, prints of drypoint and lithograph.

Professor Hong Shiqing, one of China’s most famous artists, is regarded as a Chinese art treasure with tremendous artistic diversity. In addition to his sculpture, he is regarded as the preeminent Chinese authority on Han and Qin Dynasty stone sculpture. For inheriting Chinese stone engraving art, in 1980s he committed to open up the "Land Art", spent several years shaping rocks into marine creations at Dalu Island near Hangzhou, that made the desert island turn into a tourist attraction. He is an official Panda Artist, having been commissioned to live with panda bears for purposes of painting them. He is a highly regarded calligrapher, carving his own wood chops. He is also a master of the ancient one finger Chinese water color painting.

洪世清，男，1929年生，福建省泉州晋江安海人，中国美术学院教授，中国美术家协会会员。先后师承齐白石、黄宾虹、潘天寿、刘海粟。擅长中国画、水粉画、版画、篆刻、尤精指画，岩雕。作品曾在国内各省市多次展览，并赴美、加、波、瑞、日、新、菲等国展出，及被中国美术馆、美国明尼苏达大学，世界野生动物保护基金会，日本上野动物园，浙江省博物馆收藏。1985年为继承中国石刻艺术，先后在浙江大鹿岛，福建崇武半岛开拓以石赋形，以海生动物为题材的“大地艺术”，共完成秦汉风格的岩雕200余座，使荒岛变成旅游胜地。艺术大师刘海粟对此深表赞赏，称此石雕艺术为“永垂不朽的杰作”，还特为此写下《大鹿岛岩雕铭》。出版有专著《铜版画技法研究》、《石版画技法研究》、《版画技法谈》等 。
