In the end of 1950, Liu Bocheng, Marshal of the People's Liberation Army, was transferred to Nanjing as the president and commissar of the Military Academy of PLA.

This drama tells the little known history of General Liu Bocheng, who sets up the first military academy at the foot of Zhong Shan Mountain in Nanjing at the beginning of the People’s Republic of China. Through the description of several generals’ fates and their vicissitudes life, the drama reflects their hard turn from war to peace and their efforts to build a modern and powerful new country.
