Journey to the West is a household legend and myth throughout East Asia, especially China, and among Chinese throughout the world. It is based on the real life monk Xuan Zang's (also known as Tripitaka or Tang San Zang) pilgrimage to India, to fetch back some Buddhist scriptures. Nonetheless, this fictional retelling focuses on San Zang's first disciple, the monkey demon, Sun Wu Kong, who captured readers' hearts and imagination with his bold, daring, and mischievous personality. He was also very rebellious.

This epic story is a captivating read, with the pilgrims getting into trouble in the most unexpected places, fighting through not only outright confrontation and abduction but also lies and disguises while using trickery of their own. Sun Wu Kong is especially good at this, having mastered the way of transforming himself into anything he likes, including a fly, tree, or a beautiful girl.

The Monkey Sun Wukong, cheated and jeered by the heavenly court, revolts and fights his way to earth to assume his rightful place as king. Follow his adventures, as the Emperor sends his army to catch the Monkey King. Having fierce battles with 100,000 haven solders led by General King Le and supervised by Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother, the Monkey was captured by Lao Tse's assistance. But Jade Emperor could not execute the Monkey by any weapons, and decided to throw him into Lao Tse's Melting Furnace of Immortality to burn. Monkey King did not want to not alive after 49-day burning, he jumped out the furnace when Lao Tse opened it to see the Monkey's ash. This time the Monkey severely destructed the heavenly court...
