Active ingredients:
Astragalus root
Bai-zhu atractylodes rhizome

Actions: Tonifies the Qi, stabilizes the exterior, and arrests sweating.

Indications: Use for a person with low body resistance and deficiency of vital energy -symptoms including spontaneous sweating, frequent colds, aversion to wind, fatigue, and a pale and shiny complexion.*

Directions: As a dietary supplement, take 3 capsules each time, two times daily.

Note: Jade Shield Decoction (capsule format) is a modern preparation according to the ancient prescription "Yu Ping Feng San" (Jade Windscreen Powder) originally appeared in Teachings of Dan Xi (Dan Xi Xin Fa), that is one of most common formulas to prevent colds or to help any individual who gets recurrent colds or flu's. In modern clinic, it is applicable to Common Cold; Influenza; Chronic Rhinitis; Allergic Rhinitis.

When taking this formula for prevention of colds it should be taken for a minimum of one month, but in more deficient cases taking Yu Ping Feng San for five months before the formula takes hold on the body is not un-common. When the appropriate symptoms are present this herbal formula is able to treat such disorders as upper respiratory tract infections, exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, mild bronchitis, allergic rhinitis, hyperthyroid condition, autonomic dystonia.

服法与用量：口服，一次3粒，一日2次。

中药名方玉屏风散由我国元代医家危亦林创制，是体质虚弱者预防感冒等感染性疾病的良方，不妨一试。

“玉屏风散”是中医预防体虚感冒的专方，主要提升患者的“正气”以抵御外邪，适合于健康人和亚健康人。此外，还能治疗症状轻微的早期感冒，比如伤风后出现鼻塞、怕冷等症状。

中医方剂里有“玉屏组合少而精，芪术防风鼎足行”之说，意思就是玉屏风散药味组成少而精，只有黄芪、防风、白术3味药物。黄芪是健脾补气药的代表，于内，可大补脾肺之气，于外，可固表止汗，特别适合于治疗肌表卫气不固导致的体虚盗汗，是方中的主打药物；白术则能健脾益气，帮助黄芪加强益气固表的功能，为辅药；防风异名叫“屏风”，可以解表祛风。可以说，前两味药，以扶正为主，而防风则以祛邪为主，本方剂正是“标本兼治”的巧妙结合。

怎样判断自己是否属于肌表卫气不固呢？一般来说，有如下情况者可“对号入座”：消瘦，容易感冒，畏风怕冷，稍微活动就出汗较多，或患有过敏性鼻炎（如遇冷风即喷嚏不断）等。

除上述治疗气虚感冒之外，玉屏风散在临床上还可以治疗小儿体虚多汗、原发性血小板减少性紫癜、口腔溃疡、慢性荨麻疹、美尼尔综合征、柯萨奇B病毒性心肌炎、慢性结肠炎、面神经麻痹、支气管哮喘、过敏性鼻炎、皮肤瘙痒症、习惯性便秘、原发性多汗症等等。
