Dang Gui Shao Yao San capsule is a prepared formula of Chinese herbs.

Ingredients:
Dong Quai root
Bai Shao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae, White Peony Root, Peony)
Poria sclerotium
Bai-zhu atractylodes rhizome
Ligusticum wallchii rhizome.

Actions: To replenish blood, To reinforce the spleen and kidney.

Indications: Use for a person with anemia and abdominal pain due to spleen and kidney asthenia. The symptoms are pale face, fatigue, anemia, abdominal pain, heaviness sensation of the head, dizziness, tinnitus, lumbago, palpitation, cold feet, urinary difficulty, slight edema in lower limbs (often during pregnancy).*

Directions: As a dietary supplement, take 3 capsules each time, two times daily.

Dang Gui Shao Yao San (Tangkuei and Peony Powder), a famous Chinese complex prescription has been widely used for gynecological and obstetrical purposes for a long time. The functions of this TCM herbal formula are to nourish liver blood, promote liver Qi circulation, tonify spleen Qi and resolve dampness. This Chinese medicine formula is best suited for disharmony between the liver and spleen leading to abdominal pain and other digestive complaints. Dang Gui Shao Yao San is used to treat abdominal pain during pregnancy but is not limited to this pattern and is used for a great number of other disorders by today's practitioners. When the appropriate symptoms are present this herbal formula is able to treat such disorders as habitual miscarriage, threatened miscarriage, primary dysmenorrhea, pelvic inflammatory disease, chronic nephritis and beriberi.

功能与主治：调肝养血，健脾利湿，缓急止痛。用于妊娠腹中拘急，绵绵作痛，肝郁气滞，脾虚湿胜，腹中疠痛，小便不利，下肢浮肿等症。现用于妇女功能性水肿、慢性盆腔炎、功能性子宫出血、痛经、妊娠阑尾炎，以及慢性肾炎、肝硬化腹水、脾功能亢进等属脾虚肝郁者。

服法与用量：口服，一次3粒，一日2次。

本方出自《金匮要略》“妇人妊娠病脉证篇”，原文说：“妇人怀妊．腹中疠痛，当归芍药散主之。”“妇人腹中诸疾痛，当归芍药散主之。”前者为妇人妊娠腹痛，后者为妇人腹中诸痛，皆用当归芍药散主治。陆渊雷在《金匮要略今释》中罗列了许多资料，据《三因方》称：本方治妊娠腹中绞痛，心下急满，及产后血晕，内虚气乏，崩中久利，常服通畅血脉，不生痈疡，消痰养胃，明目益津。《青州医谈》称：治妊中保胎亦佳。《类聚方广义》称：治妊娠产后不利腹痛，小便不利等。用此方验胎，以及胎痿不长，腹中拘急。又说能治眼目赤痛症，其人心下有支饮，并可治脱肛肿痛，出水不止。汤本求真认为妇人胃及子宫之痉挛，用本方多有奇效。

当归、芍药、川芎为血分药，有和血舒肝的功用；茯苓、白术、泽泻为气分药，有健脾运湿的功用。全方共奏养血活血，健脾行水的功效。临床运用十分广泛，为妇科的良方。根据《金匮要略》妇人腹中诸疼痛的后示，凡妇人腹中痛如输卵管肿胀、盆腔炎、膀胱炎、宫颈炎、子宫肌瘤等均可以当归芍药散治之。
