Xun Huisheng (1900 - 1968), a Qing Yi and Hua Dan player. His performing style was entitled Xun Style of Beijing opera. He shared the honor of being one of the Four Great Dan Actors with Mei Lanfang, Shang Xiaoyun and Cheng Yanqiu.
Born in Dong-Guang of Hebei Province, he entered "Triple Happiness Opera School" to learn Hebei Opera. He then switched to playing Beijing Opera after his graduation. He had been a co-performer of Yang Xiaolou, Yu Shuyan, Gao Qingkui, Zhou Xinfang, Gai Jiaotian and Mei Lanfang. The opera plays he was skilled in included the Happy Marriage, the Chessboard Mountain, Xin An Post, etc. He also rehearsed and performed many new opera plays, such as the Phoenix Hairpin, Miss Xun Guan Niang, Two You Sisters in the Red Mansion, the Red Maid and so on. He was good at portraying lively and naughty girls and heroines. His performances were very pleasing and showed the frank and open personality of the characters.
After the founding of People's Republic of China, he was appointed chairman of Beijing Committee of Traditional Opera Writing and Direction, which was later named Beijing Traditional Opera Research Institute. He was also president of Hebei Clapper Opera Theater. His works included Xun Huisheng's Stagecraft, Xun Huisheng's Random Notes on Opera Performing, and Selected Operas Performed by Xun Huisheng.

荀慧生诞辰一百零五周年特别纪念版！收录有《玉堂春》、《贵妃醉酒》、《得意缘》、《杜十娘》、《白娘子》、《钗头凤》等经典剧目。荀慧生（1900—1968），京剧旦角表演艺术家，祖籍河北东光，原名秉超，改名秉彝，又改名词，字慧声，号留香，艺名白牡丹，后改用荀慧生。
荀慧生家境贫苦，自小被卖给天津一个梆子戏班，后师从河北梆子花旦庞启发。8岁开始登台表演，后随侯俊山学梆子花旦。1911年，荀慧生入三乐班，师从路三宝、薛兰芬学京剧青衣、花旦，当时与尚小云、赵桐珊并称“正乐三杰”。1918年，他加入喜群社，与梅兰芳、程继先合演《虹霓关》，从此专演京剧。
20 世纪30年代荀派艺术逐渐形成，成为四大名旦之一。平时，荀慧生还喜欢作画，曾向吴昌硕、齐白石、傅抱石、李苦禅等名师求教，不断提高自身的艺术素养。荀慧生的表演熔青衣、花旦、闺门旦、刀马旦表演于一炉，吸收小生、武小生及其他行当的表演技巧，甚至国外舞蹈步法融于其中。
他根据自己的天赋条件，在唱腔、身段、服装、化妆等方面进行大胆的革新。他的唱腔委婉动听、声情并茂、轻盈谐趣；他表演时注意刻划心理，重视角色动作，讲究眼神运用，把女性的妩媚闪现于言谈举止之中。
