This is a patent herbal remedy based on the classical recipe Jie Geng Tang (Decoction of Platycodon Root) in TCM originally appeared in Shanghan Lun (Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Diseases), which is used to resolve phlegm, soothe the throat and evacuate pus for relieving cough with much phlegm, lung abscess with purulent expectoration, painful swelling of the throat and hoarse voice.
Ingredients:
Platycodon root
Licorice root
Actions: Dispels phlegm and stops cough, eases the throat, aids in the discharge of pus, directs other herbs to the upper body.
Indications: Use for variety of productive coughs from both excess and deficient causes. Helps to discharge pus. Used for suppurative disorders such as lung abscess and throat abscess. Usually added to a targeting formula to enhance its throat easing or cough stopping effect.*
Directions: Take 8 pills 3 times a day as a herbal supplement.
Caution: Do not use if pregnant. Not suitable for use in the absence of heat or toxic heat symptoms.
