Li Yuan Drama (Pear Garden Opera), one of the oldest Chinese genres of Drama, retains the classical dramatic structures and their features.
The drama is the story of man-woman relationship. Before dying, Mr. Peng, a rich scholar without any government position, entrusts Mr. Dong, tutor of his son, to keep his wife, Ms. Li, from remarrying after his death. Dong reluctantly promises to do so. But the frequent contact with Ms. Li arouses the love between each other. Finally, having overcome a lot of moral obstacles and the threats of Mr. Peng's apparition, they get married and live a happy life.
