The classical formula "Tianma Gouteng Yin" (Gastrodia and Uncaria Decoction) is primarily used to calm the liver and extinguishes internal wind for headache and dizziness due to hyperactive liver-yang and upward disturbance of liver-wind, often seen in high blood pressure situation.*
